FORWARD
I decided to establish this blog as an American citizen and trained historian who has a desire to reach out to Americans who want to understand recent events in relation to their historical context. Are these “unprecedented times”? Maybe not. Removing the fear and outrage connected to this world of instant news might allow one to give more deliberate thought to the many outcomes that are beyond the control of Americans.
Hence the effort to provide commentary of recent events in conjunction with their historical perspective. History tends to repeat itself only because the behavior of the human race has not changed since day 1!!!
